Supernatural’s new Toronto studio turns sound into a full-body experience

The Portal blends breathwork, movement, and full-body vibration into one shared space.

Supernatural, a longevity-focused studio in Toronto’s Yorkville neighborhood, just opened a new space built around one idea: sound isn’t something you only hear, it’s something your whole body can feel.

About the experience

The Portal is Supernatural’s immersive sensory and wellness studio. Unlike a typical sound bath, The Portal treats the room itself as the instrument, with sound and vibration moving through the space as a full-body sensory experience rather than something you passively listen to.

Programming runs across six “pillars,” including Energy, Sound, Breath, Body, Move, and Mind. The pillars are delivered through classes, workshops, Listening Lab sessions, or private experiences led by facilitators in sound, movement, mindfulness, and somatic healing.

“In The Portal, listening becomes something the whole body does,” says Louise Upperton, Supernatural’s Programming Director and a sound meditation practitioner. “You feel the vibration before the music fully arrives.”

The bigger story

The nervous system regulates everything from anxiety levels to digestion, and more fitness and wellness brands are catching on, leaning into breathwork and music-driven movement as forms of self-care that don’t require doing more or pushing harder. The Portal takes that same idea and makes it a collective experience, bringing sound, breathwork, and movement into one room.
