Superpower’s Blood Friday turns Black Friday into a day of giving

Give blood or money to the Red Cross, get a year of personalized health membership.

Superpower has partnered with the American Red Cross for Blood Friday, a campaign that asks Americans to donate differently this holiday season. The first 1,000 people who donate blood or make a $100+ contribution to the Red Cross — and share their experience online — will receive a complimentary Superpower membership valued at $199.

Why it matters

Every year, blood donations drop around 20% during the holidays — even though someone in the U.S. needs a transfusion every two seconds. With only 3% of eligible donors giving annually, Superpower is using its platform to turn Black Friday into a moment of community care rather than consumption.

How it works

Through December 31, participants can donate blood or make a monetary contribution through the campaign site, then post about the experience using #bloodfriday and tag @superpower and @americanredcross. Once verified,, the first 1,000 donors will receive a free one-year membership that includes annual testing for 100+ biomarkers, personalized action plans, and ongoing access to a care team via text.

A shift in wellness culture

Superpower isn’t alone in reimagining what giving looks like. Puresport hosted a thrift market for gifted goods, while Momentous and Maui Nui donate $10 proceeds from sales to food-sharing initiatives. It’s a start in using shopping moments to promote mindful consumption and community service.

In other ways, wellness brands are connecting personal health with community health, proving that self-care can also serve others. By choosing to donate blood or support the Red Cross financially, participants address immediate medical needs while also getting tools to monitor and improve their own health throughout the coming year.

Where to participate

Visit Superpower’s Blood Friday campaign site to make a donation or find a blood drive near you. The campaign runs through December 31, with free memberships available to the first 1,000 verified participants who donate blood or contribute $100+ to the American Red Cross and share their experience online.
