Mariana Fernández is one of Peloton’s most popular instructors, teaching bilingual yoga, meditation, and tread classes on the famed fitness platform. She’s a well-established yogi with over 15 years of teaching experience, a marathon runner, a triathlete, and a theater performer and artist. As a fitness instructor, Mariana is passionate about being a cheerleader for her students, celebrating every single victory while cueing and guiding.
In between teaching and performing, Mariana is on-the-move, grabbing coffee or dinner with her “chosen family” in New York, setting out on training runs, and making a point to visit Central Park daily.
As she approaches a new decade, Mariana is celebrating strength, rest, and bringing a thriving energy to all parts of her life and work.
Here’s Mariana to share her Health Stack:
“My mat is my most-used product I own! It gets put to use everyday — even if I just bring it to the park as a spot to sit. I like the traction of the lululemon yoga mat. Their travel mats are a great, packable option for when I’m on the go too and need something less sturdy.”
“I remember when the pandemic was hitting and I needed to go be with family, I grabbed just a duffle bag and my On running shoes. I have a narrow foot with a high arch, and their shoes fit well and offer the right support. I’m training right now, and I use them for walking, long runs, and race days. They just introduced a lifestyle shoe too, which I like.”
“I always have a pair of headphones on me. I bike to work and I use these. I can listen to music and still keep aware. I have them when I’m planning yoga or tread classes and when I’m a volunteer guide for Achilles, which helps athletes of all different abilities participate in races.”
“I’m very protective of my eyes since I spend so much time outdoors! I use Ray Ban sunglasses for daily activity, but I wear Blenders sunglasses for running and racing. I am from San Diego, and they’re San Diego-based! If you lose things like I do, they are in a nice price range, so you don’t feel like you’re breaking the bank if you have to replace them.”
“I am outside all the time, and the Supergoop sunscreen lives with me. As a kid, my mother had never heard of SPF, so I have years of sun damage. Once the wrinkles started to arrive, I started to realize how important sun protection is. Now, I put it on daily, especially before long runs.”
“I was always told I was a bag lady living in New York — carrying five bags between auditions, teaching, and everywhere in between! I finally invested in a more fashionable product. My Dagne Dover bag has a streamlined design, isn’t flashy, and fits my laptop, clothes, and shoes. I can fit everything into one bag now versus five! Now that I’m 37-years-old, I don’t want to wreck my back and want to think practically when I’m constantly on-the-go.”
