The Details: What’s actually different

Pepsi Prebiotic Cola swaps high fructose corn syrup for 5 grams of real cane sugar, keeping the calorie count at 30 per can. The prebiotic fiber comes from chicory root, and the brand promises it “delivers the classic crisp, refreshing taste of Pepsi.”

The announcement comes after PepsiCo’s recent acquisition of poppi, the brand that took prebiotic sodas mainstream. Now Pepsi is bringing that approach to its flagship cola brand, aiming to meet the changing consumer preferences for more functional ingredients.

Where to buy

Available in 12 oz. single cans for trial and 8-packs of 12 oz. cans, Pepsi Prebiotic Cola will launch with online retailers this fall ahead of a full retail rollout in early 2026.
