The Drop: Oura added two metabolic health features: Meals and Glucose. The AI-powered updates help users understand how their dietary choices affect their overall health by combining meal insights with glucose data from Stelo by Dexcom.
These new features aim to connect the dots between nutrition, sleep, stress, and activity.
After successful testing in Oura Labs, the Meals feature brings nutrition insights directly into the Oura experience. Unlike traditional calorie-counting apps that make you feel guilty, Oura takes a sustainable approach focused on understanding how food actually fuels your body.
The process is refreshingly simple: snap a photo of your meal and let the AI do the rest. The system instantly recognizes your food, provides a detailed nutrition breakdown (protein, fiber, processing level, sugars, fats, and carbs), and offers personalized guidance through Oura Advisor.
The feature is designed to help you build satiating, nutrient-dense meals that maintain energy levels and avoid crashes—without making you feel guilty about your food choices.
Through a partnership with Dexcom, Oura can now track glucose.
Through a strategic partnership with Dexcom, Oura members can now purchase Stelo — the first FDA-cleared glucose biosensor available without a prescription — directly from Oura.
The small biosensor worn on the back of the upper arm leverages Dexcom’s glucose sensing technology to provide 24/7 insights. When integrated with the Oura Ring, users can see their glucose readings alongside sleep, stress, activity, and meal data, providing contextual graphs showing the relationship between meals, stress, movement, and glucose levels.
The Glucose feature also introduces a new metric called “Time Above Range” that tracks how long your glucose stays elevated, plus AI-powered trend analysis that spots patterns you might miss.
The Meals and Glucose features are available now on iOS and Android for Oura members in the United States, with international availability for Meals coming later this year.
Members can purchase Stelo directly from Oura for $99, which includes two sensors with up to 15 days of wear time each. Both the Oura Ring and Stelo are eligible for purchase with FSA/HSA funds.
