Mount to Coast x Believe in the Run drop a limited collab built for road-to-trail runners

Mount to Coast and Believe in the Run have released the BITR H1, a limited-edition collaboration on Mount to Coast’s H1 road-to-trail shoe.

The collab came together after Thomas Neuberger, founder of running review site Believe in the Run, tried the original H1. “The design matches the running experience,” Neuberger says. So he approached Mount to Coast about collaborating—and brought 16 years of footwear reviewing experience to the project, contributing color direction, design input, and the high gaiter-style collar.

The details

The BITR H1 starts with the same foundation as the standard H1:

• CircleCELL midsole: Made from a renewable feedstock, offering energy return across road and trail surfaces.
• TUNEDFIT Dual Lacing System: Two lacing zones for a more dialed fit, particularly useful on uneven terrain.
• VersaGrip outsole: Designed for traction across mixed surfaces.

What the collab adds is a high gaiter-style collar that creates a close connection between your foot and the shoe while keeping out dust and trail debris. It arrives in a Desert colorway suited for both trail and pavement, and the collar is built to slip on and off easily.

The original H1 won Outside Magazine’s Best Gravel Running Shoe award and was named RoadTrailRun’s Trail Shoe of the Year. This collab builds on that foundation rather than reinventing it, which seems like the right call for a shoe with existing strong reviews across the running community.
