LIT is trying to make the home sauna a little easier to live with.
The wellness tech company has launched ARC, a one-person infrared sauna designed to look like mirrored furniture when it’s not in use.
Behind the two-way mirror is a sauna with infrared heat, built-in red and near-infrared light, app controls, and Bluetooth speakers.
The big differentiators are the mirrored design and footprint.
ARC measures 35 inches wide by 28 inches deep by 68 inches tall, taking up about seven square feet, less floor space than many armchairs. LIT designed it for bedrooms, offices, apartments, and other spaces where a traditional sauna might be difficult to fit.
The mirrored front is paired with a white oak exterior and Finnish spruce interior, so when the sauna is closed, it’s meant to read more like an accent piece than a piece of recovery equipment.
Inside, six infrared heaters bring the temperature up to 170°F in about 35 minutes. Users can also preheat ARC from their phone before a session.
LIT also integrates five wavelengths of red and near-infrared light into the unit, along with Bluetooth speakers for music, podcasts, or meditation.
Unlike many larger home saunas, ARC runs on a standard 110V outlet, so it doesn’t require hardwiring or a dedicated electrical circuit. LIT says setup takes about 30 minutes.
ARC is available now for $3,495 through litmethod.com. The sauna comes with a limited lifetime warranty on the cabin and five years of coverage on its heaters and electronics.
