Creatine monohydrate has one of the strongest safety records in sports nutrition, but some people still report bloating and GI discomfort.
This typically happens for one of two reasons: users are still in the early stages of creatine supplementation, or the product is poorly soluble. For the latter group, when creatine monohydrate is not fully dissolved, it remains in the stomach, triggering cramping or gas.
KRĒO, a new performance nutrition brand from the Aurora Nutrascience family, is launching a liposomal formula designed to fix the delivery method—without changing what makes creatine work.

KRĒO’s liposomal creatine.
Standard creatine dissolves in water and absorbs through the gut lining in raw form. KRĒO’s formula encapsulates creatine in liposomes, tiny fat-like particles designed to support smoother absorption and reduce the GI side effects.
The brand says this approach also improves delivery efficiency to working muscles. The brand says this approach improves delivery efficiency to working muscles. Liposomal delivery is a promising delivery format for some nutrients, though creatine’s absorption profile means the added benefit remains an open question.
Beyond the delivery mechanism, KRĒO adds two co-factors: GAA (guanidinoacetic acid), which helps the body produce more of its own creatine naturally, and R-ALA (R-alpha lipoic acid) which helps convert carbohydrates into usable energy more efficiently.
KRĒO is NSF Certified for Sport, vegan, and non-GMO. For athletes subject to drug testing, NSF certification means the product has been independently tested for banned substances and that what’s on the label is what’s in the sachet.
KRĒO has signed CrossFit competitors Dani Speegle and Pat Vellner as founding athlete partners. Both compete at the elite level of functional fitness and will integrate the product into their training and competition routines, as well as appear in educational content around creatine and recovery.
Coming next. KRĒO says it’s developing a liposomal electrolyte formula with BCAAs and pre- and postbiotics.
KRĒO liposomal creatine comes in a 30-pack of individual powder sachets. It’s available now at kreosport.com for $79.99 one-time, or $59.99 on subscription.
