Garmin just launched CIRQA, a screen-free smart band that tracks health, fitness and recovery data without requiring a subscription. It’s Garmin’s first band built to be worn around the clock, day and night, so it can build a fuller picture of health than a band you only put on for workouts.
CIRQA runs on Garmin’s Elevate heart rate sensor, tracking things like Body Battery, Pulse Ox, stress, skin temperature, respiration and HRV through the Garmin Connect app. It detects activity type automatically, but users can also track manually by selecting from more than 80 workout options using the single side button.
Sleep gets its own set of tools including a nightly sleep score, sleep coaching, nap detection, and a circadian alignment feature that shows how closely your schedule lines up with your natural rhythm.
CIRQA also tracks menstrual cycles and pregnancy, syncing skin temperature data with the FDA-cleared Natural Cycles app for fertility insights—but the app will require its own subscription.
Built for daily wear, the band lasts up to 10 days on a single charge, is water-resistant to 50 meters, and comes with a machine-washable fabric band available in seven colorways that can sit on the wrist or upper arm.
All of that comes standard, no subscription needed. Garmin does offer a $6.99-a-month Connect+ tier on top, but it’s positioned as an add-on for AI insights, wheelchair mode tracking, nutrition guidance and Garmin Coach training plans, not a requirement to use the band.
Garmin has spent two decades earning trust with runners, cyclists and triathletes who rely on its watches for serious training, and that reputation may give CIRQA a real head start. Other players are approaching the category their own way, with Luna betting on voice-first logging and Fitbit Air leaning on price.
CIRQA follows Fitbit Air’s no-subscription approach rather than Whoop’s membership model, though at $199.99 it costs twice as much as the Air. For Garmin, it could be a bet that hardware credibility and a wider feature set are worth that gap, especially against other brands’ ongoing membership costs.
CIRQA is available to order starting July 24 at garmin.com.
