David launches with a high-protein, zero-sugar bar

The Drop: David, a brand dedicated to designing tools for muscle growth and fat reduction, launched its first product: protein bars. Each bar contains 28g of protein and 150 calories per serving.

David’s protein bars are designed to align with the core tenets of a healthy diet: sufficient protein intake, controlled caloric intake, and minimal added sugar consumption. Each bar boasts 28g of protein, 150 calories, and 0g sugar. This composition results in a 75% CFP score (Calories from Protein / Total Calories), surpassing competitors whose scores range from 44% to 52%.

The bars are available in four flavors: Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Double Fudge Brownie, Cake Batter, and Blueberry Pie.

The bars feature a carefully crafted protein blend consisting of Milk Protein Isolate, Collagen, Whey Protein Concentrate, and Egg White. This combination provides a complete amino acid profile and achieves a perfect 1.0 PDCAAS (Protein Digestibility Corrected Amino Acid Score), making it ideal for various bodily functions, including beauty enhancement and muscle building.

Initially, the bars are available in four flavors: Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Double Fudge Brownie, Cake Batter, and Blueberry Pie. For those who can’t decide, David offers a sample pack containing one of each flavor. Customers also have the option to build their own bundle.

Behind the brand

David was founded Peter Rahal and Zach Ranen, who bring a wealth of experience to the table. Rahal, founder of the popular protein snacks brand RXBAR, has been passionate about protein bars since his youth and has dedicated his career to perfecting them. Ranen, was previously founder of RAIZE, an online bakery offering no-sugar-added, low-carb, gluten-free desserts.

The brand’s investors and advisors also include  and Andrew Huberman, Ph.D., and Peter Attia, M.D., who also serves as David’s chief science officer. “My involvement with David stems from a shared commitment to science-driven nutrition that prioritizes muscle growth and effective fat management. Protein is essential for longevity, and our products are designed with that in mind,” says Attia.

Where to buy

The bars are available now via David’s website. A carton of 12 bars priced at $39.00 for a one-time purchase. Subscribers receive a 10% discount, bringing the cost down to $35.10 per carton.
