The Drop: Beats unveils its most sophisticated fitness earphones yet: the Powerbeats Pro 2. These redesigned earbuds pack heart rate monitoring, active noise cancellation, and enhanced sound quality into a lighter, more comfortable frame.
The Powerbeats Pro 2 combines Beats’ signature sound with fitness tracking capabilities, letting you monitor your heart rate through LED optical sensors that pulse over 100 times per second. This data syncs in real-time with popular fitness apps including Nike Run Club, Peloton, and Runna.
Built for performance, the redesigned earhooks use nickel titanium alloy for better flexibility and grip, while being 20% lighter than the previous model. Five different ear tip sizes (from extra-small to extra-large) ensure a perfect fit, and IPX4 water resistance means you can push through sweaty sessions without worry.
Athletes also get immersive audio with Active Noise Cancellation to block out gym distractions, plus a Transparency mode when you need to stay aware of your surroundings. The earbuds automatically tune sound in real-time using Adaptive EQ, adjusting to how they fit in your ears.
Battery life impresses at up to 10 hours per charge, with the wireless charging case providing 45 hours total. A quick 5-minute charge delivers 90 minutes of playback – perfect for those last-minute gym sessions.
The launch campaign features an unprecedented trio of athletic legends: LeBron James, Lionel Messi, and Shohei Ohtani. “Music has always been a key motivator in my training, and these earphones take an already iconic product to the next level,” says James.
The Powerbeats Pro 2 are available now for $249.99 on apple.com in four colors: Jet Black, Quick Sand, Hyper Purple, and Electric Orange. They’ll hit stores February 13th.
