The Drop: WHOOP launched its most advanced wearables yet, the WHOOP 5.0 and WHOOP MG (MG stands for medical grade).
“This isn’t just a product launch. It’s a new chapter for WHOOP and for our members,” says Will Ahmed, WHOOP founder and CEO. “We’ve taken everything we’ve learned over the past decade and built a platform to help our members perform and live at their peak for longer. We’ve held nothing back.”
The new devices offer 14-day battery life in a sleeker, seven percent smaller form – and introduce new features, including Healthspan with WHOOP Age, Heart Screener with on-demand ECG, Blood Pressure Insights, and more.
Healthspan aims to quantify your physiological age (“WHOOP Age”) compared to your chronological age. Developed with Dr. Eric Verdin, CEO of the Buck Institute for Research on Aging, it analyzes nine different metrics linked to long-term health to show how your daily habits impact longevity.
New blood pressure insights come from a patent-pending technology delivering daily blood pressure readings from your wrist, including estimated systolic and diastolic values. Hormonal insights for women goes beyond basic cycle tracking with science-backed education on how hormonal shifts influence recovery, sleep, stress, and performance. And the new ECG feature is FDA-cleared and allows you to take an electrocardiogram reading directly from your wrist anytime.
WHOOP has also updated its Sleep Score to provide a more accurate reflection of sleep quality, helping users recover more effectively.
The brand also announced WHOOP Advanced Labs, which will integrate blood test scheduling and clinician reports directly into the WHOOP app for a more comprehensive health picture. Advanced Labs is opening up soon and will only be available to members in the US at a launch.
WHOOP 5.0 and WHOOP MG are available now. To make the devices more accessible, WHOOP has opened up three new membership tiers:
