The government just launched a drug discount site that includes GLP-1s

TrumpRx went live yesterday, offering discounted pricing on a small list of prescription drugs.

The federal government launched TrumpRx. It’s a cash-pay prescription site offering discounted pricing on high-cost medications, including GLP-1 weight-loss drugs. The site lists oral Wegovy at $149/month compared to the $1,349 list price, with similar discounts on Ozempic ($199/month), Zepbound ($299/month), and fertility medications.

It’s designed for people paying out of pocket—either uninsured, underinsured, or buying medications their insurance won’t cover.

What TrumpRx offers

At launch, the site includes a limited list of medications, with a heavy focus on high-cost drugs that have been getting attention for affordability issues. GLP-1s like Wegovy and Ozempic are the headline draw, alongside a handful of inhalers, fertility medications, and other brand-name prescriptions.

Prices are based on “Most-Favored-Nation” pricing and are shown against list prices—not what insured patients necessarily pay.

How it works in practice. TrumpRx doesn’t replace insurance, and it doesn’t stack with it either. Purchases made through the site are cash-pay and don’t count toward deductibles or out-of-pocket maximums.

A new lane for cash-pay drugs

TrumpRx adds another option to the growing cash-pay drug landscape. It won’t fix the broader affordability crisis, but it reflects how drug pricing is increasingly being navigated outside traditional insurance channels—especially for medications people want but struggle to get covered.

For some, it could lower the barrier. For others, it’s simply another comparison point.

How to get access

TrumpRx is now open to the public. You can search for discounted drug pricing, access manufacturer links, or print pharmacy coupons for cash-pay purchases at trumprx.gov.
