SVRY launches savory protein bars for athletes tired of sweet

Real ingredients, zero added sugar, and flavors that taste like actual food.

Sweet fatigue is real. Former ultra-runner Claudia Dodge and ex-consultant Schalk Pienaar launched SVRY, a line of savory protein bars. Each bar delivers 22g of protein, 40% of your daily fiber, and zero added sugar.

Flavors include Barbecue (with a hint of hickory smoke and acidity), Coconut Curry (spiced with real curry notes), and Rosemary Olive Oil (inspired by roasted potatoes).

Built different

While most protein bars live in the candy aisle, SVRY pulls from the spice rack.

Dodge came up with the concept while training for a 155-mile race through the Sahara Desert in 2022. After endless gels and sports drinks, she couldn’t stomach another sweet snack — so she started experimenting with bars that tasted like real food.

Pienaar’s path was different: after years of 80-hour consulting weeks and airport meals, his health took a back seat. When he left corporate life to rebuild his wellness routine, he realized that dessert-flavored protein products were only feeding his cravings.

What’s in SVRY

SVRY’s recipes start with ingredients like roasted potato, coconut, and tomato, then layer in spices like turmeric, rosemary, and coriander. The result is balanced flavor, not sugar fatigue.

Where to buy

SVRY bars are available at svrynutrition.com for $49 per 12-bar box or $11.99 for a 3-sample pack.
