Runningman’s choose-your-own distance race and the world’s largest sauna return for year three

September's three-day festival combines a distinctive race with world-class wellness programming.

The Drop: Jesse Itzler and Devon Lévesque are back with year three of Runningman from September 12-14, 2025, Kingston Downs in Rome, Georgia.

The Details: What makes Runningman different

Forget everything you know about running events, Runningman isn’t about PRs or podium finishes.

“I was bored of the same cookie-cutter running races and generic retreats,” says Itzler, who co-founded the event after years in the endurance space. “Runningman is part retreat, part summer camp, and part mastermind for entrepreneurs, athletes, and the running community alike.”

The festival spans three full days, blending movement, mindset work, and recovery. Think summer camp for adults who take their wellness seriously but don’t take themselves too seriously.

Runningman Festival

Runningman returns September 12-14, 2025, Kingston Downs in Rome, Georgia.

Over 1,000 participants showed up in 2024, creating what attendee David Maus describes as “a big group of like-minded individuals who care about their health, who care about community, who care about connection.”

The race that breaks all the rules

On Day two, the main event unfolds: an eight-hour window on a scenic one-mile grass loop where you choose your own adventure. Want to tackle a 5K? Go for it. Feeling ambitious about that 50K? The track is yours.

The continuous loop means you’ll lap with friends and strangers repeatedly throughout the day, creating natural opportunities for encouragement and high-fives. No matter your pace, you’re part of the same community experience.

In 2024, participants logged 11,335 total miles, with 85% exceeding their original distance goals.

“This choose-your-own-distance format is unique to the endurance space and built to encourage personal breakthroughs,” explains co-founder Devon Lévesque. “You’re surrounded by people who are here to push boundaries, build real connections, and just show up.”

Beyond the miles

While you’re crushing your distance goals, the infield transforms into an immersive wellness playground. Need a reset? Step into a cold plunge. Want to work on mobility? Join a yoga session. Feeling social? The world’s largest sauna awaits.

The 4,200-square-foot sauna features 12 wood-burning stoves, live DJs, and guided sauna rounds.

Attendees will also have the option to take part in intimate breakout sessions and mainstage conversations with some of the most respected names in fitness, wellness, and performance. Past speakers include Joe Holder, Rich Roll, Courtney Dauwalter, Ken Rideout, and Mat Fraser.
