Polar’s Street X is a rugged sports watch built for urban athletes

Polar’s Street X is a full-featured sports watch designed for people whose routines don’t fit neatly into one category. With enough features to be serious about structured training, it’s also built to handle everything else outside the gym. Right off the bat, It boasts a 1.28-inch AMOLED touchscreen, built-in GPS with compass and barometer, support for more than 170 sports, and Polar’s first integrated LED flashlight.

What you get

Hardware built to last. The Street X uses a reinforced polymer body with an eight-screw chassis and Gorilla Glass 3 protecting the display. It’s tested to MIL-STD-810H standards and water-resistant to 50 meters — so it can take a gym bag, a commute, and a rain run without complaint. At 48 grams, it doesn’t feel like a brick on the wrist.

Training coverage. More than 170 sports profiles are included, such as running, strength training, HIIT, cycling, functional training, and calisthenics. GPS is built in alongside a compass and barometer, and route guidance is included for outdoor sessions. Heart rate tracking uses Polar’s Precision Prime optical sensor.

Recovery and sleep tracking. The Street X carries Polar’s full recovery toolkit: Training Load Pro for tracking cumulative training stress, Nightly Recharge for overnight recovery scoring, and Sleep Plus Stages for automatic sleep stage detection (light, deep, REM). It also measures nightly skin temperature and HRV — useful data points for anyone tracking readiness day-to-day.

Increased Battery life. Up to 10 days in smartwatch mode. In continuous GPS-plus-heart-rate mode, that drops to 43 hours — or up to 170 hours with power-saving settings enabled.

A flashlight. Polar added an integrated LED flashlight with two modes: white for general visibility, red for low-light situations. A small addition, but useful for those who appreciate early-morning or late-evening runs.
