Perplexity enters the healthcare AI space with a personal health dashboard

It pulls in your wearables, lab results, and medical records, then tells you where your health is headed.

For the past three months, major AI platforms like OpenAI and Microsoft have made their move into consumer health, each with a different approach. Now Perplexity has stepped in with Perplexity Health and its own ambitious goal: to take everything scattered across your apps and portals—lab results, wearable data, electronic health records—and use all of it to show you where your health stands today and where it’s trending.

What it does

At the center of Perplexity Health is a personal dashboard that maps your 10-year health outlook based on current labs, vitals, and conditions, tracks your biomarkers against clinical targets, and models how specific interventions shift your numbers over time.

At launch, Perplexity Health will be able to link Apple Health, Fitbit, Ultrahuman, Withings, and electronic health records from over 1.7 million care providers through partners b.well and Terra API. Oura and Function are coming soon.

Once connected, Perplexity Health pulls from all of it to answer your questions. A question about resting heart rate, for example, factors in recent workouts, cardiac history, and latest bloodwork simultaneously. Personalized answers for each user, grounded in comprehensive data.

AI health tools have a real use case and a real ceiling. A randomized study published in Nature Medicine this year found that people using AI health tools correctly identified medical conditions less than 35% of the time — no better than those who went without. But as these tools get more sophisticated, they may be able to help you walk into appointments with better questions and a clearer picture of your own numbers. Whether the level of data integration Perplexity Health is bringing actually moves that needle is still to be seen.
