NOVOS launches ‘Longevity Bar’

Most protein bars are glorified candy with a marketing problem. NOVOS Bar flips that script entirely.

While other bars load up on cheap whey protein, NOVOS uses a protein blend that’s 50% lower in methionine and 43% lower in isoleucine, two amino acids that multiple animal studies link to shorter lifespans.

Each bar contains astaxanthin (the antioxidant that makes salmon pink), taurine (the amino acid that keeps your heart and brain sharp), and a trio of functional mushrooms: reishi, cordyceps, and lion’s mane.

The fruit and veggie blend includes broccoli, kale, spinach, sweet potato, cranberry, chlorella, plus maitake and shiitake mushrooms. Instead of seed oils, NOVOS uses olive oil and instead of artificial preservatives, they use rosemary extract.

NOVOS CEO Chris Mirabile teamed up with longevity researcher Diogo Barardo, PhD., and culinary consultant Vân Nguyễn to create the bar.
