NikeSKIMS is officially stepping into footwear with the Rift, a minimalist split-toe sneaker that lands somewhere between a ballet flat and an athletic shoe.
After NikeSKIMS’ debut activewear collection last year — 58 silhouettes designed to move from studio to home to everyday life — the move into footwear feels like a natural next chapter. The Rift carries that same in-between energy into a minimalist silhouette.
Originally a running silhouette that launched in the ’90s, the NikeSKIMS Rift reworks the original shoe into something sleeker and more lifestyle-driven. Now, users can use them for the walk to the studio, the coffee run after yoga, and everything in between. The Rift’s defining feature is its tabi toe, a split between the big toe and the rest of the foot that lets your foot articulate naturally as you move.

Originally inspired by barefoot long-distance runners in Kenya and the Great Rift Valley, the split-toe design helped encourage a more natural stride. In its NikeSKIMS update, that same concept is refined for everyday wear, blending function and ease.
Key details:
“There’s something so powerful and beautiful about a ballet flat, which is why reimagining the Nike Rift for the first NikeSKIMS sneaker felt perfect,” says Kim Kardashian. “Together with Nike, we focused on creating a version that feels minimalist, sleek, and flattering.”
The NikeSKIMS Rift Mesh is available now at Nike.com, Skims.com, and select US retail locations.
