The Drop: Garmin unveiled two new additions to its lineup of high-performance GPS smartwatches: the Enduro 3 and the fēnix 8 Series.
The Enduro 3 is built for those who push their limits, while the fēnix 8 Series offers a versatile option for multiple sports and training needs.
Both smartwatches come equipped with Garmin’s latest health monitoring features, including HRV status, Pulse Ox, sleep tracking, jet lag adviser, and energy and stress level monitoring. The watches also feature the FDA-cleared ECG app for heart rhythm monitoring and AFib detection.
Here’s the lowdown on both models:
The Enduro 3 is Garmin’s latest offering for ultra-endurance athletes. This lightweight smartwatch weighs in at just 63 grams and boasts an impressive battery life of up to 320 hours in GPS mode with solar charging. The watch features an always-on display and comes loaded with premium training, performance, and navigation tools.
“With incredible battery life, a lightweight design, preloaded TopoActive maps and more, Enduro 3 is ready to help you push the limits as you conquer your wildest dreams,” says Dan Bartel, Garmin’s vice president of global consumer sales.
The Enduro 3’s design is both rugged and functional, featuring a 51mm titanium bezel, scratch-resistant sapphire lens, and a comfortable UltraFit nylon band. It includes a built-in LED flashlight with variable intensities and a red light mode for enhanced visibility in dark conditions.
The watch offers trail run VO2 max insights, grade-adjusted pace, and NextFork Map Guides. The enhanced navigation features include dynamic round-trip routing and preloaded TopoActive maps for thousands of golf courses and ski resorts worldwide.
The Enduro 3 is available now at a price of $899.99.
The fēnix 8 is a premium multisport GPS smartwatch. The range includes models with either a bright AMOLED display or a solar charging display for extended battery life. The 51mm AMOLED model provides up to 29 days of battery life in smartwatch mode, while the 51mm solar model with an always-on display offers an impressive 48 days.
The fēnix 8 also introduces several new features, including a built-in speaker and microphone for making phone calls and using voice commands, advanced strength training plans, and dive capabilities with support for scuba and apnea activities. The series also includes the Garmin Messenger app for two-way text messaging directly from the watch.
Available in multiple sizes (43mm, 47mm, and 51mm), the fēnix 8 Series starts at $999.99, offering options to suit various wrist sizes and preferences.
