Oakley and Meta unveiled Vanguard, Performance AI glasses designed specifically for athletes who need tech that keeps up with high-intensity training.
The Vanguard builds on Oakley’s earlier HSTN model but adds serious fitness integration that makes it more than just smart sunglasses with a camera.
Real-time performance tracking. Ask “Hey Meta, what’s my heart rate?” mid-run and get answers through LED notifications without breaking stride. The glasses integrate with Strava and Garmin, automatically capturing milestones so you can focus on your performance instead of your devices.
Hands-free documentation. The 12-megapixel camera records up to 3K resolution with a 122-degree wide-angle lens. New capture modes include slow motion, hyperlapse, and adjustable video stabilization—perfect for analyzing your form or sharing your best moments. No buttons required.
Oakley Meta Vanguard Performance AI glasses.
Built to last. Nine hours of battery life means they’ll survive your longest training sessions, whether that’s a marathon or century ride. The charging case adds another 36 hours, and quick-charge gets you 50% power in 20 minutes.
Weather-ready design. IP67 dust and water resistance rating handles whatever conditions you throw at them. The wraparound PRIZM™ lens technology enhances contrast and amplifies colors while cutting glare, and Oakley’s Three-Point Fit system with replaceable nose pads keeps them secure under helmets.
Audio that cuts through. Open-ear speakers work even in noisy environments, and a five-microphone array reduces wind interference for clear calls and voice commands at speed.
Four frame and lens combinations are available at launch:
Lenses are easily swappable for different lighting conditions, with additional PRIZM™ options sold separately. A PRIZM™ Low Light lens is coming soon.
The Oakley Meta Vanguard are for pre-order at $499. Shipping starts October 21.
