OMORPHO launches an official HYROX weighted vest for hybrid training

The G-Vest Icon HYROX spreads weight across the torso so it stays secure through runs and functional exercises.

OMORPHO has partnered with HYROX on the G-Vest Icon HYROX, a special-edition weighted vest made for the mix of running and functional fitness the fitness format demands.

It adds resistance across the torso while maintaining a close, low-profile fit, allowing athletes to move through runs, lunges, burpees, and other dynamic exercises without the weight shifting around.

Built for hybrid movement

Traditional weighted vests often concentrate the load on a few larger plates, which can feel bulky or shift during faster exercises. OMORPHO takes a different approach with its MicroLoad system, distributing smaller weights across the torso to create a more balanced feel.

The vest also has a front zipper, adjustable sizing cords, and elastic side cords that help hold it close to the body. The goal is to add resistance without interfering with the natural movement needed to transition between running and strength work.

Women’s models start at six pounds and can be increased to 12 pounds, while men’s models go from 10 to 20 pounds.

Additional weight is added using the brand’s G-Pack inserts, giving athletes room to progressively increase the load as their training advances.

The collaboration also includes beginner, intermediate, and pro-level programs developed by Dr. Adam Storey, a member of the HYROX Sports Science Advisory Council. Although it carries official HYROX branding, competitors do not wear a weighted vest during a standard HYROX race. The G-Vest is a training tool, adapting OMORPHO’s existing weighted vest for workouts that alternate between running and functional movements.

OMORPHO has already applied its MicroLoad approach to other training gear. The concept makes sense for HYROX training because the vest can stay on through both running and functional exercises, adding resistance without interrupting the workout to switch equipment.
