Weight Watchers has partnered with PVOLVE, the functional fitness method, to bring strength, mobility, and stability training directly into its app. The move reflects a broader shift in how people approach weight loss: as GLP-1 medications become more common, building and preserving lean muscle is becoming a bigger part of the conversation, especially for women in midlife and members on medications like semaglutide.
Starting now, all Weight Watchers members across its Core, Core+, Med+, GLP-1 Success, and Menopause programs get access to exclusive PVOLVE classes designed for all fitness levels. The lineup includes specialized series for women in perimenopause and menopause, plus a dedicated GLP-1 strength series.
Members can also upgrade to PVOLVE’s full on-demand library of 1,700+ classes through the WW app at a reduced rate, and purchase a curated starter kit featuring PVOLVE’s signature resistance equipment: Gliders, Floor Gloves, Heavy Ankle Band, P.ball, and P.band.
For members using GLP-1 medications, strength training plays a critical role in preserving lean muscle during weight loss. The need is even more pronounced for women in midlife, who lose 3–5% of muscle mass per decade starting at age 30. In a 12-week clinical study, PVOLVE participants saw significant increases in lean muscle mass and improved lower body strength by 19%, suggesting the method can help partially offset age-related decline.
PVOLVE classes are available now through the Weight Watchers app. Learn more at weightwatchers.com and pvolve.com.
