The Drop: The beloved ’80s soda brand Slice is making a comeback with a health-conscious twist. The new Slice keeps the bold carbonation and nostalgic flavors, adding gut-supporting prebiotics and cutting sugar to just 5 grams per can.
While the iconic beverage brand, first launched in 1984, keeps its bold flavors – including Orange, Lemon Lime, Classic Cola, and Grapefruit Spritz – each can now features a proprietary “Gutsy Blend” of prebiotics, probiotics, and postbiotics for digestive support.
Slice has added prebiotics, probiotics, and postbiotics and cut sugar to 5g per can.
The brand has also ditched high fructose corn syrup in favor of a natural blend of real fruit juice, organic stevia, and organic cane sugar.
“Our mission is to revolutionize America’s health through what we drink,” says Maria Stipp, CEO of Suja Life, which acquired Slice in May 2024. “While we know not everyone is reaching for a wellness shot, soda is a staple in nearly every American’s refrigerator.”
Slice is rolling out nationwide at select Costco, Albertson’s, and HEB locations. Target exclusively carries the Strawberry flavor, while Albertson’s has exclusive rights to Grape. Additional flavors, including Classic Cola and Ginger Ale, will hit shelves in Q2 and Q3 of 2025. Each 12-ounce can retails for $2.49 and is also available at slicesoda.com.
