WHOOP will soon connect its fitness tracker to on-demand doctors

Most modern fitness trackers are great at analyzing health data to deliver guidance, but crossing over into real medical advice is an entirely different landscape. Now, WHOOP is officially bringing them together by turning its recovery tracker into a digital clinic.

By launching on-demand video consultations directly inside the app, the update gives doctors a comprehensive, 24/7 view of a patient’s lifestyle to actively improve their long-term wellbeing.

WHOOP’s Smarter AI and automatic tracking

WHOOP’s new telehealth feature will let members share continuous health data directly with a licensed physician, giving them a more complete view into daily habits and health trends. Doctors will also be able to review these metrics before each video call, improving appointment efficiency and reducing time spent answering routine questions.

To make it a true digital clinic, the brand is partnering with a platform called HealthEx. This integration allows members to securely pull in electronic health records, including lab work and past diagnoses, to give doctors a complete view of their overall health.

Alongside the telehealth launch, the platform is upgrading its AI coaching layer: My Memory will allow users to log habits or symptoms using just their voice, giving personal context into their goals. The app is also adding Proactive Check-Ins, which will notify users of any trends, like suggesting a tailored bedtime routine if sleep scores start dropping before a big trip.

Daily tracking will receive practical upgrades, too. The existing journal feature has been refreshed to accept voice inputs for logging supplements and life changes. WHOOP is also rolling out an automatic workout-detection mode and a Strength Trainer feature to track personal bests, alongside improvements to enhance heart rate accuracy.

How to get it

The new AI guidance features and tracking updates are rolling out now and are included in the price of a standard WHOOP membership. Telehealth visits will be available for an additional cost this summer.
