Nike just introduced four new technologies designed to change how athletes train, recover, and perform. From neuroscience-based footwear to air-inflated jackets, each innovation reflects the brand’s broader push toward smarter, data-informed design.
The rollout marks the first collection from Nike’s unified Innovation, Design, and Product teams — a group of nearly 1,000 designers, engineers, and scientists developing solutions for both elite and everyday athletes.
Here’s what they cooked up:

The Nike Mind 001 and Mind 002.
After a decade in development, Nike Mind is the brand’s first neuroscience-based footwear. The Mind 001 and 002 feature 22 independent foam nodes that respond to movement and ground pressure, heightening sensory awareness through the feet.
Developed by Nike’s Mind Science Department, the line is meant to help athletes find focus and connection between body and mind.
Project Amplify introduces a powered footwear system that helps runners move faster with less effort. Built with robotics partner Dephy, the design integrates a lightweight motor, carbon plate, and rechargeable cuff battery that assist natural leg motion.

Project Amplify is the world’s first powered footwear system for running and walking.
The system augments natural lower leg movement, helping everyday runners go from a 12-minute mile to a 10-minute mile. After 2.4 million test steps across 400+ athletes, testers report it feels like having “a second set of calf muscles.”
With Project Amplify still in the testing stage, this feels like a preview of where consumer tech may be heading in the coming years.
Aero-FIT cooling technology channels twice the airflow of previous Nike apparel through targeted mesh zones, helping athletes stay cooler and drier in extreme conditions.

Aero-FIT is Nike’s latest cooling technology.
Hundreds of athletes wear-tested Aero-FIT across a wide range of conditions. Their feedback and perception helped validate the innovation’s cooling performance, comfort, and freedom of movement in real-world scenarios.
It’s also Nike’s first elite apparel made from 100% recycled textiles, set to debut in football kits during the summer of 2026.
Bringing the brand’s signature Air innovation to outerwear, the Therma-FIT Air Milano jacket inflates and deflates on demand to adjust warmth levels. Team USA athletes will debut it this winter in Milan, with added accessibility features like magnetic zippers for Paralympic athletes.

The Therma-FIT Air Milano Jacket is powered by A.I.R. Technology.
Nike Mind 001 and 002 launch January 2026 on nike.com and select retailers. Aero-FIT apparel arrives in 2026, while Project Amplify continues testing ahead of a consumer release. Team USA will wear the Air Milano jacket later this year.
