Several years into the rise of hybrid fitness, interest in competition-based training remains high. Life Time is leaning into that shift with the return of the LT Games on April 25, 2026, at Life Time Target Center in Minneapolis. The debut event sold out last fall, signaling appetite for challenges that combine structure, strategy, and shared effort.
Unlike traditional hybrid races with fixed sequences, the LT Games uses a choose-your-own-adventure format across 17 different stations testing strength, cardio, agility, and endurance.
“The first LT Games event was a new challenge that required both mental and physical demands. Constant decision making as we went through the event,” says Lauren Weeks, who took first place overall at the October event. “I’m excited to return and potentially try some new strategies the second time around.”
Life Time has expanded its hybrid offerings to support athletes preparing for this style of competition. Clubs now run LT-focused classes built around the event’s core movements, and an 8-week training plan is available in the company’s free app.
With only 128 competitor spots, the LT Games remains intentionally tight in scale, but it reflects a broader movement toward curated competitions that offer structure without the scale of traditional races. Hybrid events are becoming cultural gathering points for both trained athletes and members looking for challenge-based, measurable progress.
Performance brands like Ten Thousand have taken notice, returning as presenting sponsor as they deepen their presence in hybrid-training communities. “Hybrid training is the clearest expression of that belief, requiring athletes to constantly evolve and push their limits,” says CEO and founder Keith Nowak.
Registration opens December 12, 2025, at noon CST on the LT Games website for Life Time members and December 15 for nonmembers. With only 128 spots available and the first event selling out, you’ll want to mark your calendar.
