gnorda brings ultralight philosophy to trail running and apparel

A 14-piece collection merging high-fashion design sensibility with technical performance gear.

gnorda is a new collaboration between trail running brand norda and ultralight design consultancy gnuhr. The collection spans footwear and apparel, built around a shared principle: strip away everything unnecessary without sacrificing performance.

The footwear: gnorda 002

norda’s 002 technical trail shoe in a new colorway. The gnorda 002 is norda’s responsive 002 trail runner in an exclusive Bismuth (camouflage green) colorway. The shoe’s lower stack height increases ground feel on technical terrain, while a padded heel collar and pyramidal midsole geometry help you stay planted on uneven surfaces.

The upper is woven with bio-based Dyneema — a material known for its strength-to-weight ratio and abrasion resistance. A gridded pattern and co-branded detail on the lateral midfoot distinguish the gnorda version from the standard 002.

The apparel

Each garment in the 14-piece collection follows the same design logic: reduce seams, maximize function, extend lifespan. Here are a few highlights:

Breaker Wind Shirt. Made in Japan from ultralight Dyneema/nylon ripstop. The one-piece fabric body minimizes seam lines, and the slightly boxier fit accommodates layering. Trims, cords, and cord locks are removable and replaceable.
Warp T Tank. Engineered in Italy from a single warp-knit nylon panel with zero seaming or stitching. Built-in cut lines let you customize the length, sleeves, and neckline — up to 36 configurations, including a tank. Zoned mesh provides ventilation under the arms and sides, and perforations for a race bib are built in.
Shag Zip Hoodie. Made with Polartec Alpha Direct 60 for lightweight active insulation. The cropped, close-to-body fit works as a mid-layer under a shell or over a base layer during movement. The hood fits snug, and the hem cord lock system is removable for easier one-handed adjustment.

Who’s behind the collab

norda is a Canadian trail running brand founded in 2020 by Nick and Willa Martire, known for Dyneema-based trail shoes. gnuhr (the “g” is silent) was started in 2023 by Nur Abbas, a designer with experience at Maison Margiela, Louis Vuitton, Nike, and Yeezy. The name comes from the Arabic word for “light.”
