BetterSleep’s new podcast tackles the science behind disrupted sleep

20-minute expert conversations that focus on why you can't sleep, not just how to fix it.

If you’ve ever found yourself wide awake at 3 a.m. scrolling through sleep tips, you’re in good company. About one-third of Americans struggle with sleep, and up to 70 million deal with chronic disorders like insomnia or sleep apnea.

To help us get a handle on our sleep patterns, BetterSleep, a sleep and wellness app, has launched The Rest Report, a biweekly podcast designed to cut through the noise and offer actual solutions.

What you’ll hear

Each 20-minute episode features conversations with sleep, health, and wellness experts covering the factors that shape sleep quality, like breathing, hormones, light exposure, sound, and daily habits. The format is built around actionable takeaways rather than abstract science.
Host Nathalie Walton, BetterSleep’s general manager, developed the podcast after consulting more than 40 specialists—from neurologists to respiratory therapists—while navigating her son’s complex sleep apnea diagnosis.

“What I learned is that better sleep is not about hacks or quick fixes,” Walton says. “It is about understanding what is actually happening in your body and having access to clear, trustworthy guidance.”

The podcast is part of BetterSleep’s broader approach to sleep guidance. The app also offers sounds, meditations, and sleep stories. The Rest Report adds expert-led education to that mix—the first episode, for example, features nutrition doctor Brooke Scheller discussing the relationship between sleep and alcohol use. The goal? To leave listeners informed, not overwhelmed.

Where to listen

The Rest Report is available now at bettersleep.com and through the BetterSleep app on iOS and Android.
