Dating app Surf has become the official dating partner of HYROX Americas. Singles can now filter matches by HYROX participation, and the partnership includes pre-race shakeout runs, singles wristbands at events, and “Station 9” — an official after-party at races across North America.
HYROX isn’t the first fitness brand to recognize what’s happening at events. Lunge dating app hosts a weekly run club in Manhattan that draws about 1,000 participants — singles wear all black to signal availability, and each run ends at a bar. Lunge has also partnered with Barry’s, Orange Theory, and Equinox for fitness-meets-dating events. Coffee Meets Bagel launched “CMB Experiences,” which includes active events like the Run Date Festival in Asia.
According to Eventbrite, attendance at singles events increased 42% between 2022 and 2023, with game- and sports-based meetups growing even faster.
People who train for HYROX, run marathons, or show up to CrossFit aren’t just looking for workout partners — they’re looking for people who understand why foam rolling takes priority over Netflix. Plus, you learn more about someone’s follow-through watching them finish an 8-station race than reading their bio. As HYROX grows as an organized sport, expect more brands to realize fitness culture doubles as a dating pool.
“HYROX brings together people who share a commitment to training, performance and community. Surf is a natural partner in helping our athletes translate those shared values into meaningful connections beyond race day,” adds Enno Eller, sales director at HYROX.
Surf will be at select HYROX North American races in early 2026, including Phoenix, Las Vegas, Washington D.C., Miami Beach, Houston, New York City, and Ottawa. The app is available now with the HYROX filter feature already active for those who want to start connecting before race day.
