TravelTone: The app two travelers built to find honest hotel gym reviews

A new community platform helping fitness-minded travelers stay consistent on the road.

The case for better hotel gym transparency

Founded by Meg and Chris Garvey, TravelTone was created to solve a familiar problem for fitness-minded travelers: not knowing what to expect from a hotel gym. Instead of relying on vague “fitness center” descriptions or a single photo of a treadmill, users can now search hotels by gym quality, amenities, and real reviews from fellow travelers.

Users can then book stays directly through TravelTone’s partner links, eliminating the need to repeat the search elsewhere. This simplifies the entire process — from discovering a hotel gym that meets your standards to confirming your stay, all in one place.

Adding community to travel fitness

The app also highlights local yoga, Pilates, and boutique fitness studios that welcome drop-ins, ideal for travelers who value the community side of fitness. Each listing includes clear amenity icons showing whether a location offers free weights, cardio machines, lap pools, or group classes, helping users find workouts that fit their routine.

How it works

Once you find a hotel or studio that fits your routine, you can bookmark, share, or click through to travel partners to book directly. Designed for on-the-go use, TravelTone also makes it easy to upload photos and notes right after a workout.

Where to get it

TravelTone is available now on iOS via the Apple App Store, with an Android version in development. Studio owners interested in joining the directory can contact contact@traveltone.io.
