Chilipad launches its new 2.0 bed cooling system with zero subscription fees

The updated water-based system also features a quieter dock, an offline remote, and a built-in mattress protector.

Chilipad just dropped a major update to its bed cooling system, shifting the focus toward a more seamless bedtime experience.

The new Chilipad 2.0 builds on the company’s established water-based sleep system with upgrades shaped by customer feedback, including a quieter dock, a redesigned cover, a built-in mattress protector, and no required subscription for core cooling and heating controls.

About Chilipad 2.0

Standard cooling fabrics and gel mattress toppers work by drawing heat away from your body, so they often warm up over the course of the night. Chilipad solves this problem by using actively circulating water to maintain a precise temperature between 55°F and 115°F all night long. Continuous climate control keeps the bed exactly how you want it, helping to reduce night sweats, limit 3 a.m. tossing and turning, and improve your overall sleep quality.

Shaped by customer feedback, the 2.0 hardware redesign focuses on the little friction points of daily use. The new “Hydrolayer cover is modular, meaning it slides right out when it’s time to wash it, and it now features a built-in mattress protector (to shield your actual mattress from night sweats or everyday wear). It also comes in expanded sizes, including Full and Twin XL. On the floor, the redesigned water dock is noticeably quieter, easier to refill, and features an adjustable digital display that you can actually read from bed.

Another unique update in the sleep system is the physical remote. Included in every box, the controller lets you adjust the temperature, check your sleep climate, and even trigger automated sleep schedules using in-bed detection. It’s compact enough to fit on any nightstand.

The Chilipad remote sits right on your nightstand, no phone required.

While the physical remote is great for quick, screen-free adjustments, Chilipad offers an optional app to automate your sleep further. You can use it to program automatic temperature changes throughout the night, manage dual-zone settings for you and a partner, or swap a jarring morning alarm for “Warm Awake,” which gently heats the bed to wake you up naturally.

Unlike competitors that charge ongoing fees just to access their smartest features, Chilipad 2.0’s unique edge is that it gives you full control without a subscription.

Where to get it

The Chilipad 2.0 is available now, starting at $1,599 through sleep.me, offering single-zone and dual-zone configurations for most bed sizes. The updated system also includes an extended two-year manufacturer’s warranty.
