Cervco just launched the Gut-Brain Wellness Test, an at-home kit designed to analyze specific gut bacteria researchers have linked to cognitive wellness.
Instead of mapping your entire microbiome, it zeroes in on four markers connected to brain health, then delivers a personalized Gut-Brain Wellness Score with research-backed next steps.
The connection between gut health and brain function is a growing area of research, and Cervco’s test zeroes in on four specific targets that have been studied for their roles in brain health and gut barrier integrity: Desulfovibrio spp., Akkermansia spp., the curli subunit protein A gene (csgA), and the Bacteroides fragilis toxin gene (bft).
The tech behind it. Cervco uses digital droplet PCR (ddPCR), a high-precision method the company says provides more accurate quantification than the traditional sequencing many consumer microbiome tests rely on.
Beyond bacteria. The kit also evaluates lifestyle factors that influence the gut-brain axis, combining microbial data and habits into a single, trackable score.
Results arrive in 2–3 weeks and include:
All samples are processed through CLIA-certified labs. The company says results remain private and are not shared with third parties.

Monitor factors linked to cognitive wellness.
“Cognitive health is becoming a major concern for adults as they move into their 50s and 60s,” said Robert Elefante, founder of Cervco. “New research is linking specific gut bacteria to this area of wellness, yet most people have no visibility into it.”
Though science is still evolving, the shift is clear: researchers are paying more attention to the gut-brain connection, and consumers seek more than just generalized gut reports. Cervco is betting that more targeted testing is the next step.
