ALO expands its sneaker lineup with its first outdoor shoe

ALO continues to build out its sneaker lineup. Since the Recovery Mode launched in 2023 and the Runner followed in 2024, the brand has dropped three styles in under three years, each one pushing further from the yoga studio it started in. The ALO Trail, launching April 9th, marks its first real push into outdoor footwear.

Coming from a brand built on high-quality athleisure, fashion-forward style, and lifestyle, it was only a matter of time before the footwear caught up. The ALO Trail is built for multi-terrain movement, designed to handle outdoor terrain and still look the part off the trail.

The details

The ALO Trail features an oversized traction sole, water-resistant materials, reflective detailing, and a high-rebound midsole compound. The speed drawcord lacing with locking closure and stabilizing heel clip add a technical edge without overcomplicating the design. It comes in Black, White, and Gravel.

To bring the shoe to life, ALO tapped professional boxer Ben Whittaker and supermodel Daiane Sodré. Whittaker is shot moving through London, transitioning from trail runs to training sessions, while Sodré captures movement across the streets of Paris and the salt flats of Camargue, France. Together the two locations make the case for what the shoe is actually built for: terrain that changes, and a shoe that translates.

At $295, it sits well above most dedicated trail shoes, but its customer is already buying into a lifestyle at a premium, and a trail shoe that looks as considered as the rest of the lineup fits that logic.
